Description

AskRide is a real-time carpooling mobile application designed and developed to connect drivers and passengers on a single platform, enabling users to create rides, search and book seats, and track ongoing trips live on an interactive map. The application is built using React Native with a scalable architecture and integrates Google Maps and Places APIs for location search, route visualization, and live GPS tracking.

The system implements a secure phone-based OTP authentication flow with JWT session management, a four-step guided ride creation process, and a complete profile and vehicle management module with document uploads and verification indicators. The app includes advanced features such as dual ride management (created and booked), real-time ride tracking with moving car markers, shimmer loading states, pull-to-refresh, and reusable UI components.

The primary objective of this project is to demonstrate real-world mobile application development practices, focusing on performance optimization, clean UI/UX design, modular code structure, and production-level feature implementation.
